About you: 

You possess a recognised degree in one of the following fields: Medical Imaging (Radiography, Sonography, Nuclear Medicine Technology), Nutrition and Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Psychology, Speech Pathology or Social Work. You have demonstrated ability to provide expert leadership in both professional and clinical governance of Allied Health services across multiple specialities and multiple facilities and high level ability to provide strategic and operational management of a large multidisciplinary Allied Health team located across multiple geographically dispersed sites, including financial, asset and resource management, policy and procedure development, quality improvement, and risk management. 

Your opportunity: 

To live and work in some of the most picturesque and rewarding locations that Far North Queensland has to offer, guiding the delivery and development of high quality and innovative Allied Health Services to the Tablelands and Mossman communities. You will be responsible for providing operational leadership, supporting strategic direction and advocacy as well as professional and clinical governance of Allied Health services across multiple professions and multiple rural facilities, including acute, sub-acute and outreach services.

Your role: 

  • Provide operational management and leadership of multidisciplinary teams of Allied Health professionals, to support effective and efficient delivery of highly responsive services, ensuring budget planning and integrity, across multiple geographically dispersed sites of Atherton, Mareeba and Herberton Hospitals and Mossman Multipurpose Health Service.
  • Possess a broad, well-developed working knowledge of the clinical practice of varied Allied Health professions including Nutrition and Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Speech Pathology and Social Work across acute, sub-acute, outreach and community and population health frameworks.
  • Utilise advanced level communication skills including negotiation, advocacy, conflict resolution and team building skills to lead and manage an Allied Health team, ensuring the provision of high-quality clinical services appropriately targeted to a broad and varied range of client/stakeholder needs.
