About you:

In your new role you will…

  • Demonstrate high level knowledge, expertise and skill in Social Work assessment, interventions and counselling for clients and their families/carers with complex psychosocial needs in the field of rural generalist hospital Social Work including acute, sub-acute and non-acute inpatient care.
  • Demonstrate ability to provide clinical advice to professional and operational supervisors regarding Social Work service delivery and improvement opportunities as they relate to rural generalist hospital social work.
  • Demonstrate ability to provide Social Work clinical services of a complex nature, exercise risk management and apply established ethical principles and practice standards in complex psychosocial situations.
  • Demonstrate ability to initiate, plan, evaluate and lead change through quality and service improvement activities.

About your opportunity:

In this position you will deliver high level rural generalist social work clinical services within Innisfail Hospital to ensure optimal clinical assessment, clinical intervention, and discharge planning occurs for health service consumers as part of a broader multidisciplinary team.

About your role:

  • Deliver high level rural generalist social work clinical services across a varied range of clinical areas including complex casework in acute, sub-acute and non-acute inpatient care.
  • Exercise independent clinical judgement and more complex decision making in areas such as psychosocial assessments; discharge planning; short term case management; counselling; crisis intervention.
  • Provide a leadership role in the clinical assessment and intervention planning for service consumers from a Social Work and multidisciplinary team perspective, ensuring timely identification of client's needs, service provision, and discharge planning within the work unit or professional team.
  • Provide clinical leadership and demonstrate high level management skills in monitoring and prioritising workload demands to initiate, develop and implement quality strategies that will enhance the delivery of Social Work services not only within the Innisfail Hospital but also across the Allied Health Service Cassowary Hub.
