About you:

In your new role you will…

  • Demonstrate local cultural knowledge and exercise cultural respect and safety at the individual and family levels and provide cultural awareness training to non-local health staff.
  • Demonstrate experience in providing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care practice to individuals and families, including maintaining and developing health service standards.
  • Demonstrate capacity to initiate, develop, maintain and manage service delivery standards and programs to suit a community or a program area.

About your opportunity:

In this position you will work autonomously, understand the health system and organisation and provide specific care, as well as anticipate and set long term goal for clients and the community.

About your role:

  • As part of a multi-disciplinary team, provide a culturally responsive service in collaboration with other healthcare professionals, develop case management and healthcare plans for Aboriginal people, and support clients in complying with their care plan.
  • Provide practice and cultural support to other health professionals to build cultural competence and responsiveness.
  • Provide clinical supervision, mentoring, and support of Trainee and developing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander HPs to develop as competent practitioners.
