An exciting opportunity exists for an Allied Health Clinician (Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker) to join the Gympie Mental Health Service to deliver clinical based care specifically within the Continuing Care Team, in accordance with the goals, policies and requirements of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS), in line with evidence-based care to support individuals' recovery journey. 

Gympie Mental Health Service is a dynamic team working in a large geographical area, providing comprehensive assessment, treatment, and case management to people with severe and complex mental health problems. 

The team has many functions including Emergency Department Mental health, Acute Care Team, Child and Youth Mental health, Older Persons Mental health, Continuing Care Team, and Cultural Healing Program.  At times this position may be required to support any number of these sub teams of Gympie Mental health if operationally required, to support the high level of care to consumers/carers being provided.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrate competent knowledge, expertise and skill in the provision of Allied Health services commensurate with level of experience in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, existing evidence-based practice and established clinical protocols. For complex or novel cases, you will seek direction from clinical seniors as appropriate.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and patient records in line with Departmental, Unit and Health Service procedures, and contribute to the maintenance of accurate and timely information systems (statistics collection, quality data). Ensure that time spent across clinical and non-clinical work is in keeping with assigned requirements.
  • Participate in quality and service improvement activities to continually improve patient/client care, including the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols within the work environment.

Remuneration value up to $128,706 p.a., comprising salary between $76,747 - $112,805 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP3).
