About us:

Rockhampton Hospital is the largest hospital in Central Queensland and the main referral hub for the region. We will deliver expert care close to home by investing in a range of specialist services at Rockhampton Hospital for all Central Queenslanders.

About the role:

To undertake duties to relieve Pharmacists of non-professional and technical tasks to ensure medication management services of the highest standard are delivered within the Rockhampton Hospital.

  • Assist with inventory management within the pharmacy department including, but not limited to, ordering, receiving, storage and distribution of pharmaceuticals and consumables.
  • Actively participate in the Pharmacy Department rotational roster.
  • Perform functions related to the maintenance of Imprest systems in designated ward areas of Rockhampton Hospital campus.
  • Input, and maintain, pharmacy and client data required for information systems maintained by the Rockhampton Hospital Pharmacy Department.

About you:

Mandatory qualification/s: Certificate III as a Pharmacy Assistant (Certificate III in Community Pharmacy SIR30116 or Certificate III in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support HLT37121) or an international equivalent is mandatory.

  • A Certificate of Competency in ‘HLTPHA001 – Maintain Pharmaceutical Imprest module, as part of a Certificate III in Hospital Pharmacy is a legal requirement for undertaking Controlled Drug Imprest duties.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $31,894 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $33.52 - $35.24 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading

It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against vaccine preventable diseases as listed on the Role Description.
