The role:  
This is an exciting opportunity to join our experienced HBCIS Technical team.  This role ensure the development and maintenance of enterprise systems by providing customer focused and high-level specialist advice and support. Application specialists in this team will also work closely with a variety of stakeholders as well as upstream and downstream systems.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Provide effective change management, capacity planning, incident management, risk management and continuity planning utilising best practices in systems support and service delivery, within the ITIL framework
  • Ensure end to end service delivery for enterprise systems within Queensland Health by establishing and maintaining highly effective working relationships with other technical specialists, application specialists, vendors and end users
  • Provide timely application support activity reports to stakeholders
  • Assist in the ongoing development, maintenance and deployment of application specific guides, work instructions and technical documents.

Are you right for this role?
To be successful in this role you will demonstrated ability in developing and promoting ITIL Service Management processes primarily incident / problem / test / change / release and configuration management.

You will also have a demonstrated ability to ensure that service delivery meets agreed service levels in a customer focused ICT environment.Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including the ability to negotiate, advise, influence others and work collaboratively with people to make decisions.

  • Demonstrated high level understanding and technical skills in the following:
    • Unix/Solaris System Administration including shell/bash scripting
    • Database administration and management
    • Query writing skills in RDBMS and/or NoSQL
    • Scripting and automation
    • Application programming experience / Proc and Databasic

  • Demonstrated high level technical expertise evidenced by the ability to provide professional support, advice and solutions.
  • Proactively identifies, analyses, and manages risks and produces documentation that reflects analysis, review, and decision-making processes.
  • Continuously improves the service offering by understanding business needs and creating enhancements to return ROI.
  • Well-developed ability to build and maintain appropriate relationships with team members, other technical specialists, application specialists, vendors, and end users.
  • Ability to work within an Agile Team or a Waterfall structure
