The Finance Management team at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Finance Officer (Assets) to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your opportunity

  • Reporting to the Asset Accounting Manager role will assist with the delivery of asset accounting functions for Mackay Hospital and Health Service (MHHS).
  • To provide expert timely and pro-active advice on Asset management and Asset accounting issues to support the strategic activities of the Health Service.
  • Provide authoritative specialist advice to the Asset Accounting Manager, Asset Accountant, Senior Finance and Corporate Services staff in Mackay Health in relation to Asset accounting and undertake research to adequately respond to new public sector financial management initiatives.
  • Maintain appropriate policies, procedures, guidelines and systems to facilitate Mackay Health's effective financial and asset accounting.

About the Team

Finance Management consists of Financial Accounting, including Revenue, Assets and Management Accounting. The team provides routine and ad-hoc information, analysis and advice for various stakeholders such as the Executive, service directors, business managers and clinicians.
