The role 

As our Principal Advisor, lead the charge in industrial relations and human resources strategy. This role is your opportunity to provide expert advisory services across the organization, ensuring seamless employee relations and proactive dispute resolution. You'll manage emergent industrial matters, oversee key projects, and play a pivotal role in award maintenance and enterprise bargaining processes through negotiation, conciliation, and arbitration. Your responsibilities includes (Not limited to):

  • Provide advisory and support services on complex human resource and employee relations issues to senior executives across Queensland Health.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including government departments, senior executives, managers, and unions.
  • Lead enterprise bargaining processes, prepare for negotiations, represent in conciliation and arbitration, and implement outcomes.
  • Identify and address new human resource and industrial relations challenges, advising on their long-term impact for Queensland Health.

The successful person

You will have demonstrated:

  • Ability to lead enterprise bargaining processes, including negotiations and hearings at the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission.
  • Strong skills in managing industrial disputes, advocating, negotiating, and deep knowledge of QIRC rules.
  • Skills in high-level advisory services to senior stakeholders on HR and industrial relations.
  • Strong innovative problem-solving skills in complex and dynamic environments.
