The role:

The successful candidate will provide support and assistance in the clarification and prioritisation of tasks by ensuring assigned priorities are met in accordance with defined enterprise service levels.

You will be responsible for:

  • Maintain defined enterprise service levels by providing high quality technical expertise, support and administration whilst adhering to departmental standards, policies, procedures and ITSM processes.
  • Assist management in the decision making process by preparing technical reports, specifications and trend analysis within the unit;
  • Provide expertise to progress the installation and configuration of hardware, firmware and software as per departmental frameworks.
  • Manage ICT assets by ensuring changes and relevant information is recorded accurately.

Are you right for this role?
The successful candidate will be assessed on their ability to demonstrate the following key capabilities, knowledge and experience:

  • Demonstrated ability or the ability to quickly learn Service Now and ITIL Service Management processes, primarily incident/problem/test/change and configuration management. (SFIA: USUP Level 3, PBMG Level 4, CHMG Level 3, CFMG Level 3, TEST Level 2)
  • Exposure to enterprise infrastructure management and enterprise storage technologies in one or more of the following: (SFIA: TECH Level 4, DBAD Level 4)
    • SAN Infrastructure (SAN Networks; Dell EMC [VNX and Unity] and HP [3Par/Primera/Alletra]);
    • Data Protection and Archiving Solutions (Commvault; IBM / TSM Spectrum Protect);
    • Backup and Recovery Strategies.
  • Proven ability to participate in a highly skilled technical team providing high-level technical direction, standardisation and support of enterprise infrastructure in a large customer focused organisation (SFIA Code: ARCH 5);
  • High level understanding and working knowledge of relevant technical domains (SFIA Code: TECH 4);
  • Proven experience in providing expertise and support on use of methods and tools (3rd level of support) within the technology sphere (SFIA Code: ARCH 5; METL 4; DESN 5);  
  • High level communication skills to enable effective interaction in individual and group situations  (NHS: Effective and Strategic Influencing).
  • Demonstrated skills in the analysis of IT system issues and the formulation, design and provision of appropriate solutions and improvements  (SFIA Code: DESN 5; ARCH 5; METL 5);
