The role 

Reporting to the Manager, Office of the Chief First Nations Health Officer. Your role will be responsible for undertaking a range of projects and project management tasks related to the operational efficiency of the Office of the Chief First Nations Health Officer.

You will lead, consult, develop, implement and monitor internal quality frameworks and governance processes such as planning, reporting and continuous improvement to support the Office of the Chief First Nations Health Officer.

The successful person

You will have demonstrated:

  • Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with QPS as outlined above and the Queensland Health Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Capability Framework 2010 -2033.
  • Follow defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe, services and workplaces.
  • Use a project management framework and develop project documentation encompassing clear planning, communication and governance processes for effective project outcomes across complex time-critical projects.
  • Lead, manage and deliver business priorities within specified timeframes, optimising allocated resources to ensure efficient project outcomes; including effectively managing projects and tasks, correspondence and executive operations aligning with team goals and incorporating feedback to improve outcomes
  • Undertake policy research, planning, needs assessment and analysis to identify and advise on future strategic policy challenges, opportunities, priorities and issues including whole-of-agency and inter-agency policy priorities.

The Chief First Nations Health Officer is responsible for providing leadership and coordination; strengthening relationships with key senior and intergovernmental stakeholders including the Hospital and Health Services and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Health Sector to elevate the focus on improving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, wellbeing and safety outcomes and embed a culturally safe, culturally capable, connected and integrated health service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Queenslanders.
