The role 

Reporting to the Senior Director, Workforce Relations and Policy. Your role will be responsible to assist, coordinate, support and provide effective, high quality client-focused services and contribute to the design, management and delivery of significant human resource management projects and programs relating to industrial relations, policy and business requirements.

The primary focus of role will is to provide executive support to the Senior Director, Workforce Relations and Policy. Your daily responsibilities will include the coordination of the day-to-day business of the Senior Director's office including meeting preparation, email and diary management, travel arrangements, document management, and support with continuous improvement processes. You will provide a high level of confidential executive secretarial and administrative support to meet the functions of the Office of the Senior Director. In addition the role will be required to assist with the management of incoming and outgoing correspondence and to provide efficient human resource support.

The successful person

  • Provide high level, confidential administrative support to the Senior Director, Workforce Relations and Policy, including email and calendar management
  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills including the ability to prepare and coordinate formal written communications
  • Complete ad hoc administrative requests as required to support the effective running of the Workforce Relations and Policy unit
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including with other Queensland Government departments, senior managers and union representatives
  • Process and monitor the status of ministerial and senior executive correspondence, briefings and communications prepared by the Workforce Relations and Policy unit and provide relief and support as required in the coordination of such correspondence across the Human Resource Services Branch
