About you: 

You are a qualified Registered Nurse with advanced clinical practice skills and who can lead with confidence and integrity to deliver a high-quality service with the primary focus on achievement of organisational goals for the good of others. You are competent in the application of clinical problem solving and effective coordination of patient centred care at an advanced level and you are confident to to provide leadership, precept staff and contribute to professional nursing practice.

Your opportunity: 

The Clinical Nurse Continence Advisor - CHSP provides clinical nursing care at an advanced level of service delivery and program facilitation and provides an early leadership role within the career pathway for nursing. The Clinical Nurse is responsible for a specific patient population and functions in complex situations while providing support and direction to other multidisciplinary staff within the team. 

Your role: 

  • Demonstrates evidence of increasing autonomous practice and greater levels of professional judgement, influencing practice as a team member predominately within a clinic or community setting in the area of continence.
  • Promotes cooperation, teamwork and understanding in undertaking specialist Continence nursing practices for effective health outcomes.
  • Practice collaboratively and provide clinical leadership within the interdisciplinary health care team to promote the safety, security and personal integrity of individuals and groups eligible for CHSP.
  • Provide clinical leadership for professional and clinical practice, education, and research in conjunction with the Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) and Team Leader.
  • Uses effective communication skills to influence and convince others in a mature, confident manner to achieve positive client outcomes, including providing informant and/or advice on clinical issues within the Registered Nurse scope of practice.
