The role: 

As the Principal Project Manager, you will be reporting to the Project Director. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing the full project lifecycle and the successful delivery of complex cyber security solutions and infrastructure for the Cyber Security Program. This role will focus on leading the Access Manager Improvement Project which will enhance the enterprise Identity and Access Management service to improve the end user experience.

In line with Queensland Health's project management methodologies, you will be required to deliver the project(s) within agreed timeframes, budget, and quality standards. Additionally, you will enable informed decision making on project status, risks and issues by developing timely and relevant written submissions, briefs, presentations, and information papers for project stakeholders.

Are you right for this role?

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience in the delivery of large and complex cyber security projects, preferably in the health care industry.
  • You will possess a high level of expertise and knowledge of appropriate project management methodologies, preferably PRINCE2, and the ability to provide expert advice on the use of appropriate project management techniques, methodologies, and tools.
    • Knowledge and experience with agile methodologies, frameworks and best practices (e.g. Scrum) would be highly regarded. You will guide the team on utilisation of agile approaches to grow maturity. Additionally, you will provide leadership in backlog grooming, sprint planning, stand-ups, removal of blockers and retrospectives where you will coach team members to resolve them.
    • Knowledge and experience with the Software Development Lifecycle would be beneficial.
    • Awareness and experience with project management and agile tools e.g. Jira, ServiceNow Agile module, Microsoft Project.
  • An understanding of the operational environment within hospitals and the role that Cyber plays to support them is desirable.
    • Demonstrated experience of implementing customer/user based software solutions, with understanding of how business requirements align with software functionality (including data management).
  • You will require high level interpersonal, negotiation, consultation, and communication skills to create a strong client focus.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage multiple multi-disciplinary project teams will be an essential requirement in this role. You will utilise your abilities to work in a team environment and develop effective working relationships with stakeholders.
