About the role

Responsible for providing, developing, and maintaining an efficient, effective, ethical and confidential administrative, and secretarial support service with a strong focus on delivering quality patient care, whilst meeting Departmental goals and objectives. This position operates with a high degree of independence while maintaining open channels of communication between all staff within the Department and other members of multidisciplinary teams, staff within the Health Service District, and external agencies. The position must make administrative decisions relating to the interpretation of departmental policies and procedures.

About you

The successful applicant will carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North values and the corresponding Lominger™ competencies shown above in this role description:

  • Working primarily in the Medical Imaging Department located in the Emergency Department participate in a rotating shift roster 7 days per week between the hours of 7:00 am – 12:00 midnight.
  • Fulfill the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Queensland Health's core values, as outlined above.
  • Perform a wide range of administrative tasks, which may include written and verbal communication such as preparation of patient notification letters and patient pre-procedure letters, reception duties, scheduling of appointments, Department call centre support, secretarial, film reproduction, and revenue-related roles.
  • Complete functions associated with bookings within all modalities, managing cancellations, rescheduling, and liaising with Clinical and Administrative teams as appropriate.
