About the role

The Forensic Liaison Officer will coordinate, support, monitor and report on the care and management of consumers under Forensic Orders within West Moreton's Community and Acute Mental Health Service. 

This position will coordinate and provide direct care and management of consumers under Forensic Orders (as identified in the Mental Health Act 2016) and any other consumer as delegated by the Team Leader or Clinical Director.

This position is a contact point for specialist forensic services and criminal justice agencies, ensuring continuity of care and the smooth transition of consumers between services.

Health Practitioner 4 - $124,432 - $133,901 per annum

Nurse Grade 7 - $132,562 - $143,924 per annum

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated high level ability to work both autonomously and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and within the state-wide FLO network to utilise well developed clinical skills in the assessment, treatment, risk management and care of consumers on Forensic Orders.
  • Demonstrated high level understanding of Queensland Mental Health Act 2016 and the ability to provide advice on how to translate legislation, policies, and standards into practice.
  • Demonstrates the ability to build and maintain strong relationships, open communication and a positive environment within a multidisciplinary team, actively contributing to the learning and development of others to a high standard in the mental health service.
  • Demonstrated commitment to personal education, professional development, clinical and professional supervision and a commitment to leading the development of colleagues through the provision of education, supervision and mentorship and the promotion of personal and professional accountability.
  • High level ability to practise within an evidence-based framework and initiate quality improvement and research activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety, and ethical behaviour.
