About The role

Reporting to the HSE Manager, our Health and Safety Advisors play an integral part in our operations and act as role models in the field alongside our workforce to promote the effective application of all health, safety and training programs.
In your day to day, you will assist with ongoing safety and education working with our amazing team on site to really drive positive safety outcomes and initiatives. You will be responsible for promoting awareness of Health and Safety Practices and reporting incidents.

You will also -
 

  • Provide site with Health & Safety support.
  • Support the Incident Management process including facilitation of investigations and support for case.
  • Assist with the ongoing development of the site health and safety management systems / plans.
  • Undertake regular Visible Leader inspections and report findings back to relevant departments.
  • Assist with ongoing development of the operations volunteer emergency response capabilities, including facilitating team training days, maintaining, and ordering equipment and scheduling external training.
  • Facilitation of training events including, but not limited to, the roll out of training for new initiatives, procedures, and other information critical to the business.
  • Regularly monitor INX events and other actions raised and ensuring effective closeout.
  • Assist with monthly safety checks across site, including Emergency response equipment.
  • Support the development of site procedures, standard work instructions and training material to control and monitor the risks associated with health and safety.
  • Assist with the preparation of daily, weekly, monthly reporting requirements.
  • Assist with site Document Management systems with updates and reviews
  • Assist with site Injury Management and Return to work cases.
  • Assist with Alcohol and Other Drugs testing regime.


About You
 

  • Previous experience working in a similar role, preferably within heavy industry environment 
  • An absolute passion for everything HSE and WHS!
  • Certificate IV in WHS
  • Strong Experience in WHS Management systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation and listening
  • A strong ability to build credible relationships with stakeholders, coupled with the ability to influence positive decision making around safety practices

  • 8/6 roster as DIDO plus Travel Allowances and Camp OR
  • 5/2 4/3 roster as residential PLUS annual allowance of $15,000 per annum to live locally

The Operation
Tritton Copper Operations is a long life copper operation located near the towns of Nyngan and Cobar in central New South Wales that commenced production in 2005. One hundred percent owned and operated by Aeris Resources, Tritton forms the cornerstone of Aeris copper production.
Tritton comprises an underground mining complex feeding a 1.8 million tonne per annum conventional processing plant. Copper concentrate produced at the operation is railed to the Port of Newcastle for export to customers internationally. The current mine plan for Tritton extends to FY2030.
