The Role:
As an Occupational Therapist at Vivir Healthcare, you play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of Occupational Therapy services through adept people leadership, fostering robust customer relationships, and leveraging your professional and technical expertise. Reporting directly to the Clinical Excellence Team, you will collaborate closely with various stakeholders including Occupational Therapy Clinical Supervisors, Clinical Leads, Operations Managers, and the Vivir Support Office team.
Duties and Responsibilities :
You will have the opportunity to make a difference across diverse environments, including schools, communities, and homes. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of duties, including administering OT assessments, providing therapy tailored to NDIS participants, and conducting Functional Capacity Assessments and Supported Independent Living assessments. You'll also play a crucial role in Assistive Technology Assessments, completing progress notes/documentation, and delivering manual handling training and education.
Furthermore, you'll have the chance to enhance your skills in the NDIS space with the support of our experienced leaders and supervisors. Whether it's conducting sensory assessments, implementing falls prevention strategies, or facilitating home modifications, you'll be instrumental in promoting independence and improving the quality of life for those we serve. Some regular duties include:
  • Administering OT assessments across our dynamic caseloads.
  • Working in the school, community, and home environments.
  • Provision of therapy which are tailored to NDIS participants to promote best outcomes.
  • Doing Functional Capacity Assessments / Supported Independent Living and Specialist Disability Accommodation assessments.
  • Assistive Technology Assessments for specialised equipment prescription
  • Completing progress notes/documentation
  • Manual Handling training and education
  • Pressure care education and therapy
  • Sensory assessments and sensory integration focussed interventions.
  • Opportunity to work in Paediatrics space.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • At least 2 years’ experience as an Occupational Therapist Post Graduation
  • Occupational Therapy Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent as approved by AHPRA –Full Registration
  • Drivers’ license and reliable vehicle
  • Occupational Therapy Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent as approved by AHPRA –Full Registration
  • Drivers’ license and reliable vehicle
  • Professional indemnity insurance, or willingness to obtain.
  • Valid NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, or willingness to obtain.
  • 2023 Flu Vaccine Certificate, or willingness to obtain.
  • COVID vaccine certificate, or willingness to obtain.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote team environment.
  • Experience and skills in NDIS, prescription of assistive technology and home modifications preferred.
  • Ability to work independently while still maintaining engagement within a mobile workforce
