The Role Join the General Surgical Team as an Unaccredited Surgical Registrar. Some of your duties will include assessing surgical patients referred from the Emergency Department and undertake consults for inpatients. Admit, manage and discharge patients from the service under the supervision of surgical consultants/fellows with the aim of providing the highest possible standards of care. Participate in operations under supervision of fellows/surgeons. Participate in the 24 hour roster for the Surgical Department as required to ensure the proper functioning of the service. Provide telephone advice to community clinics, GPs and peripheral hospitals.

The Requirements
Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
Have appropriate training and experience applicable to General Surgery.
Demonstrated commitment to high quality patient care.
Demonstrated surgical competency
Passion for rural, regional and Aboriginal healthcare
An enthusiasm to develop cultural competency.
