An exciting opportunity exists for a Mental Health Clinician to deliver Psychology, Social Work, or Occupational Therapy clinical services specifically within the Child and Youth sub-team of Gympie Mental Health to stakeholders/customers of Queensland Health, in accordance with the goals, policies and requirements of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS). 

Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south to Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include: 

  • Demonstrate competent knowledge, expertise and skill in the provision of Psychology, Social Work, or Occupational Therapy services commensurate with level of experience in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, existing evidence-based practice and established clinical protocols, with a focus on Mental Health specific assessments and interventions for children and young people. 
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and patient records in line with Departmental, Unit and Health Service procedures, and contribute to the maintenance of accurate and timely information systems (statistics collection, quality data). Ensure that time spent across clinical and non-clinical work is in keeping with assigned requirements.
  • Understanding of and ability to acquire knowledge of mental health and addiction services clinical practice skills inclusive of the functions and application of the Mental Health Act 2016.
  • Participate in quality and service improvement activities to continually improve patient/client care, including the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols within the work environment.

Remuneration value up to $102 964.80 p.a., comprising salary rates $38.70 - $56.89 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP3) (part time position, 60.80 hrs p.f.).
