Occupational Therapist - Toowoomba QLD (JOB -10003517)

Practice Information:
The practice offers both Occupational Therapy and Education supports and services to self-funded and plan-managed NDIS Participants aged 0-18yrs. Supports will be offered on an individual basis according to need and may include one or more of the following:

  • Coaching

  • Group Programs

  • Parental Information Sessions

  • Kinder/School Supports

  • Assessment

  • Goal Specific Therapy

The practices vision is to equip families and children with strategies and supports that enable them to become powerful advocators while helping to create a future paved with possibilities.
The practice’s mission is to provide support to families of children/young adults who have recently received a diagnosis or deemed eligible to receive service under NDIS guidelines but not currently able to access service due to extensive waitlists.

Position Description:

  • Conduct and interpret assessments as required.

  • Develop individualized therapy plans tailored to the specific needs and goals of each child.

  • Provide evidence-based interventions.

  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other Why Wait staff to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach to therapy.

  • Monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and make necessary adjustments to therapy plans.

  • Provide support and guidance to families, empowering them to actively participate in their child’s communication development.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including progress notes, therapy goals, review reports, assessment reports and outcome measures.

  • Provide best practice methodology.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.

  • Registration with Occupational Therapy Australia.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with children, families and the therapeutic team.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. - Flexibility to travel within a 50km radius.

  • Working with Children check.

  • Valid Driver’s License.

  • Willingness to use personal vehicle (kmreimbursement)

$82,000 - $93,000 per annum
