Sterile Supplies Department Lead | Sterile Services | £28,000 - £32,000 dependent on experience | Surrey | Full Time

Our Client is looking for an experienced individual to provide the multidisciplinary perioperative team with an exemplary Sterile Supplies Department [SSD] Service within the operating theatre suite. This person will Lead the SSD team and operationally manage the SSD service ensuring all department staff work within the QMS and CE accreditation systems.

Our Client is an elective hospital situated in Surrey that has recently been rated as good by the CQC. They offer a range of surgical specialties which includes; Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Cosmetic, Urology, Dermatology and ENT.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the integrity of tracking system and CE marking of surgical instruments is maintained throughout the working processes.
  • Ensure work plans are consistent with SSD and perioperative team objectives, abilities and development.
  • Make and present to the senior managers recommendation on effective use of SSD resources and improvement opportunities, maximising effective utilisation of the decontamination facilities.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the CE accreditation and QMS accreditation systems
  • Carry out delegated tasks correctly, offering own view on how SSD services can be improved to the operating theatre team.
  • Strong leadership of the department

Who we're looking for:

  • Decontamination NVQ award (Desirable)
  • Decontamination experience within a hospital setting
  • Supervisory/Management experience
  • Previous experience of working in a SSD
  • Building effective relationships with consultants and the theatre team
