  • The Rehabilitation Unit on the St John’s Campus is seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our great team of experienced health professionals.

About the role

The role will involve working as part of a multidisciplinary team in the assessment and treatment of patients with a variety of orthopaedic, neurological and medical conditions. Previous experience in Rehabilitation is highly desirable although new graduates may be considered. This is a full-time permanent position and a great opportunity for an Occupational Therapist with an interest in rehabilitation.

Your main duties will include:

  • Conduct assessments and formulate, implement and review interventional plans for patients with functional difficulties whether due to motor, sensory or cognitive impairments.
  • Establish patient-centred goals, treatment plans and discharge plans in conjunction with the patient, team and significant others. 
  • Communicate effectively with the patient, team, and significant others and act as an advocate for patients and carers on relevant issues.

About you:

  • Registered with AHPRA, and a recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy
  • Demonstrated current skill and knowledge in the assessment, interpretation, implementation and evaluation of Occupational Therapy plans for rehabilitation patients
  • Ability to function effectively in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills 
  • Computer literacy
  • Current Driver’s License
