Infection Prevention and Control Nurse

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experiencedInfection Prevention and ControlClinical Nurse Specialists to join the IPC Service on the beautifulIsland of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands.

Reporting to and working closely with the Lead Nurse for Infection Prevention and Control you will;
provide specialist IPC and advice, and contribute to the education and training to all healthcare and other professionals within the Island health service.
develop innovative practice in IPC and provide specialist advice to support the assessment, planning and implementation of patient care.
work in partnership with the Microbiology Consultants and Public Health colleagues, to ensure a specialist IPC service and management of infection, communicable diseases, and non-infectious hazards to health

Please note; Guernsey has adopted the AfC banding system, but have applied their own salary scale, as above.
The current Guernsey Band 7salary range is £52,932 to £69,605 plus an annual bonus of £1,605
Annual leave starts at 36 days up to 42 days with full credit for NHS service for annual leave and sick leave.

Person requirements:
Registered Nurse with full registration with the NMC.
Current Band 6 experience (or non-NHS equivalent)of at least two yearsin an Infection Control role
Completionor willingness to undertakea Masters level qualification in Infection Control
Completion of a recognised Teaching and Assessing/Mentorship qualification.
