You will be supporting three individuals in their own home. It is a diverse role that will see you working along side other staff as well as on your own. One of the people supported is very active and likes to get out and about most days. Another person supported enjoys attending day services, socialising and going to discos. The third person supported loves creative writing, poetry and pamper sessions.

The focus of the role is to encourage and prompt independence, this will include engagement in everyday tasks and activities both in the home and in the community.

This role will involve supporting people who require personal care, support with health needs and moving & handling. An understanding of Autism would be also be advantageous.

What is a support worker?

A support worker is great at building relationships, kind, respectful, patient and supports people to live they life they choose. It is a varied role that can include anything from supporting someone with household tasks like cooking to supporting someone with their hobbies and interests. Everyday is different as a support worker and you will be making a difference to someones life everyday.
