The Emerald Hospital, Nursing and Perioperative Services are now seeking applications for an exciting backfill opportunity for the position of Nurse Unit Manager, Emergency and PeriOp Services.
The Nurse Unit Manager is accountable at an advanced level for the coordination of meeting best practice standards for the clinical practice and person-centred care within the multidisciplinary teams for the Emergency Department and Perioperative Services.
The location: Emerald is a rural town located in the Central Highlands Region, Queensland, Australia., a short 270kms from Rockhampton City, the town boasts year-round events such as the Gemfields Festival, Gala in the Garden, Emerald 100 Race Day plus the iconic Derby Day just to name a few.

Emerald Hospital is located in the Central Highlands region of Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS) and is a 32-bed facility providing emergency, acute, perioperative and maternity services supported by a wide range of diagnostic, allied health and ancillary services.

About the role:

The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) is Registered Nurse (RN) who is accountable at an advanced practice level for the coordination of meeting best practice standards for clinical practice, person centred care within the multidisciplinary teams for the Emergency Department and Perioperative Services through the provision of effective, efficient human and material resources.

About you:

To be successful in this role you must have proof of qualification and registration as a nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

  • Demonstrates evidence which fosters the reputation of the CQHHS; takes ownership and personal accountability; for the standards of care for the Emergency Department and Perioperative Services areas at Emerald and demonstrates a commitment to and pride in the services delivered at Emerald ; applies appropriate priorities, negotiation skills and effective time management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others; provides support; shares information and credit; considers the views of and involves colleagues in decision making; deals effectively with conflict; maintains effective working relationships with colleagues; mentors and provides leadership as appropriate.
  • Proven ability to communicate relevant, prompt and accurate information; is approachable and resourceful in working with senior colleagues and peers; uses good judgement in prioritising courses of action and is respectful to co-workers and customers.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $13,684 p.m. is comprised of:

  • A hourly rate between $66.85 - $72.58 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
