Principal Systemic Investigations Officer - Specialist

The Principal Systemic Investigations Specialist (PSIS) is responsible for undertaking high quality complex investigations relating to systemic issues affecting the safety and quality of healthcare in Queensland, providing high level strategic and operational advice to management regarding systemic issues relating to the provision of a health service and taking an active role in inquiries conducted by the Health Ombudsman under Part 12 of the Health Ombudsman Act 2013.
The PSIS will provide peer and daily operational/management support in consultation with the Director Compliance.
- Provide specialist and extensive knowledge in relation to systemic investigations including critical and sensitive advice on systemic issues that are significant, high profile and/or complex.
- Undertake strategic intelligence gathering in relation to potential systemic healthcare issues.
- Develop high level and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support systemic investigations processes, enhance service delivery and the office's relationship within the wider healthcare setting.
- Actively engage in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of systems to support the strategic direction of the systemic team and the investigations division.
- Provide specialist coaching and development of staff to enhance the development of team members' systemic investigation skills.
- Provide high level advice and assistance to the Health Ombudsman in conducting inquiries undertaken under part 12 of the Health Ombudsman Act 2013.
- Undertake Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) assurance activities.
