Role Description:

As a full-time Optometry Clinical/Dispensing Assistant based in Gullane, you'll play a vital role in assisting patients with selecting glasses, advising on lenses, and carrying out repairs and adjustments. Your responsibilities will also extend to providing guidance on contact lenses, overseeing our contact lens direct debit system, conducting contact lens insertion and removal lessons, and assisting with fields tests.

Qualifications:

• Preferred experience in optometry or clinical settings
• Knowledge of basic optometric procedures and ocular anatomy
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with optometric instruments and equipment
• Proficiency in computer skills and electronic medical record systems
• Friendly and welcoming personality

Role Details:

This position offers 4-5 days per week, Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5:30 pm, with occasional Saturday shifts (approximately 4 Saturdays per year) to cover staff holidays. We provide uniforms and close the practice every year between Christmas and New Year. Additionally, there's a signing bonus for the successful candidate, welcoming them to our team.
