Ward Clerk

Ashford Hospital is a private not-for-profit 230 bed hospital, proudly part of the Adelaide Community Healthcare Alliance, known as ACHA Health. ACHA Health comprises Ashford Hospital, Flinders Private Hospital and The Memorial Hospital.

We are seeking to recruit a motivated and dynamic Administrator for the position of Ward Clerk at Ashford Hospital. If you are passionate about providing service excellence and patient care, with proven ability in flexibility, compassion and initiative, we want to hear from you. The position is will be based in our Cardiac Services Ward, with a supportive management team and an opportunity to enter Healthcare Administration. You will be responsible for providing customer service and support to patients, nurses and the Nurse Unit Manager.

This opportunity brings a dynamic exposure to a diverse clinical setting within the private hospital community.

Ashford Hospital offers a range of specialties including cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, general surgery, general medicine, gynaecology and maternity, oncology, orthopaedics, urology and vascular surgery. Ashford Hospital has 9 operating theatres, 1 procedure room, 2 angiography labs, an emergency department, maternity services and a 24 bed level 3 critical care unit.

As a Ward Clerk, your responsibilities will include:

· Answer and re-direct calls whilst maintaining a positive and professional manner

· Prepare and complete patient paperwork

· Maintain accurate and effective record management systems

· Liaise with clinical and non-clinical staff from other departments

· Arrange follow-up appointments and referrals for patients

· Support the Nurse Unit Manager with daily operations in an administrative capacity

· Complete other clerical tasks as required

· Ability to work Monday, Tuesday and Friday (Permanent 3 days per week)

· Ability to cover leave if required
