Registered Nurse (Adult Inpatient Unit)

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate comprehensive nursing care for consumers of the Adult Inpatient Unit in accordance with professional standards, validated practice which is consistent with the philosophy and policies of Queensland Health.
Are you up for the challenge?

The Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service provides specialist mental health, substance and alcohol related care to the residents of Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands and Banana areas (catchments in excess of a population of 250,000) with services located in each area.

We work in collaboration with the Adult Mental Health Inpatient, Acute Care Teams, and Primary Health as well as community and private sector providers to reduce symptoms of mental illness and facilitate recovery. 

About the role:
  • It is the purpose of this role to demonstrate nursing competence in the provision of nursing care to inpatients and outpatients whilst in the department.
  • Undertake delegated and delegate activities while assuming individual accountability for actions within the position and context of practice.
  • The purpose of the role of a Registered Nurse (RN) for Central Queensland (CQ) Health is to provide holistic person-centred care and practice within an interdisciplinary team environment.
  • The Registered Nurse provides and evaluates contemporary evidence-based nursing care in alignment with accepted standards CQ Health guidelines and policies.
About you:

To be successful in this role you must have current nursing registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

  • Commitment to develop an ability in the identification and implementation of clinical evidenced-based skill and knowledge that applies to quality, patient safety and risk initiatives and measures to facilitate continuous improvement and the achievement of The Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS).
  • Demonstrate knowledge of relevant standards, clinical guidelines and advanced clinical practice related to quality, patient safety and risk.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative and effective relationships with all multidisciplinary team members.
  • Ability to work autonomously within a quality, safety and risk framework, and undertake preventative and management strategies to minimise or prevent clinical risk as it relates to the application of relevant standards.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $121,106 p.a. is comprised of:

  • A hourly rate between $41.73 - $53.53 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
