We are seeking dynamic and passionate clinicians or MST Practitioners, to join our MST team in the North West.
You don’t need to be a current MST Practitioner to apply! We will provide ongoing training and intensive supervision to help upskill you to practice from this highly evidence-based framework. In fact, ongoing learning and development are key attributes of a what makes a great MST Practitioner.
With a motto of “whatever it takes”, MST is an innovative, evidence-based program that empowers young people involved in offending and other antisocial behaviour and their families to build the skills to achieve positive, long-term changes and improved life outcomes.
An MST Practitioners is driven, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and has the skills to deliver evidence-based treatment to young people with complex presentations and their families. With ongoing access to training and support, and weekly supervision as a core aspect of MST, working in a small team you will share CAMHS’s vision of providing quality, accessible, consumer-centred mental health care to some of Tasmania’ s most vulnerable young people.
The MST Practitioner will work as part of a small team to deliver and embed the first MST program in Tasmania, in strict accordance with the MST model. The MST Practitioner will:

Details of Appointment
Multiple permanent, full time, day worker (with on-call) positions working 76 hours per fortnight commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant
Salary: $106,966 - $118,114 per annum + 11% superannuation
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
Degree in Social Work giving eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration.
Current Driver’s Licence.
Current Driver’s Licence.
Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
Experience in therapeutic approaches consistent with MST including cognitive and behavioural therapy, family system treatment and ecological approaches including cognitive and behavioural therapy, family system treatment and ecological approaches.
Experience/expertise in child and adolescent mental health and/or Child Development.
Knowledge of contemporary juvenile and criminal justice issues.
