About the role
We are looking for experienced, caring and professional Registered Nurses (Grade 5) to work including after-hours at Council’s Residential Aged Care Facility, Warrawee.

This role is responsible for the delivery of exceptional clinical nursing practices within the Facility together with managing and supporting staff in the provision of quality clinical and non-clinical care after-hours.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing complex care areas such as infection control, wound care, eye care, continence management, diabetes management and to support care staff to manage the clinical care and wellbeing of residents.
  • Ensuring the safe storage, stocking and management of administration of all medications in accordance with current legislation, policy and procedure of the Facility
  • Providing clinical supervision and support to all other care staff ensuring that staff practices reflect sound knowledge and understanding of ageing.

You will have strong organisational and time management abilities and your capability to communicate and work in a diverse team will be integral. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and strong leadership capabilities to provide mentoring to staff.

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Qualifications as a Registered Nurse (Grade 5) with current AHPRA registration.
  • Person-centred approach
  • Substantial clinical experience in a Residential Aged Care setting
  • Extensive experience in complex clinical problem solving
  • Great time-management and adaptability
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of the Aged Care Quality and Safety Standards for Residential Aged Care and the accreditation process
  • Understanding of Leecare software would be advantageous

  • Completing a new National Police Record Check
  • Providing evidence of right to work in Australia.
