Head Veterinary Nurse - Full Time

Pascoe Vale Veterinary Hospital is looking for a Full Time Head nurse / 2IC to the Practice Manager. This would suit a Nurse Superstar that enjoys a challenge and is ready for the next step in their career!

We are looking for someone to join us who is ready to take the next step in their career from nursing into a leadership position . The role will involve 2IC tasks and responsibilities while being supported by the Lead Vet and Pr actice M anager. This position will have a strong focus on people development with duties to support the team and clinic as a whole in the day-to-day functions. With the support of our experienced vet team, the goal of this role will be to support growth of both our nursing team and the clinic itself.

Pascoe Vale Veterinary Hospital has been an established clinic for over 30 years . Our close-knit team includes 3 senior vets who enjoy mentoring our nursing team and sharing their knowledge, experienced veterinary nurses who excel in surgical monitoring and nurse consulting , exceptional dedicated receptionists and our up and coming junior nurse. Our clinic strives to provide gold standards of care to all our patients as well as providing work-life balance for our amazing team. Our hospital facilities include brand ne w Idexx blood machines, Digital xrays , dental radiographs, ultrasound machine , quality monitoring equipment and patient warming equipment as well as regular visiting surgical specialists and ultrasonographers .

The Head Nurse key responsibilities :

  • Supporting our vet and nursing team in all aspects of nursing
  • Clinic ordering and stock control
  • Assist in day-to-day roster changes, leave approvals, shift changes
  • Train, develop and mentor junior nurses
  • Manage day-to-day clinic flow of client and patients
  • Assist with building and maintaining client rapport
  • Updating the clinic website and assisting with social media

What We Are Looking For:

  • Certificate IV or equivalent in veterinary nursing with at least 3 years experience
  • Competent surgical monitoring skills and nurse consulting skills
  • Excellent customer service, time management and organisation skills
  • Ability to work well within a team-oriented environment.
  • The ability to work efficiently, both independently and as a part of our team.
  • Available to work a rotating Saturday roster 8am-1pm – No Sundays or Public holidays
