The Organisation

You will be working at a 298-bed hospital specialist state-wide paediatric hospital and trauma centre, caring for children up to the age of 16. The hospital is a centre of excellence for teaching and research, partnering in major paediatric research and education initiatives led by the Telethon Kids Institute and the State’s universities.
The Eating Disorder Service (EDS) is a state-wide specialist service, offering assessment and treatment to young people with severe eating disorders. A dedicated multi-disciplinary team provides outpatient care, day treatment, inpatient care and support groups. The program supports children and young people and their families through assessment, recovery and discharge from the service.


The Job
  • As a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, you will play a pivotal role in delivering diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Psychiatry within the CAMHS Eating Disorder Service
  • You will provide clinical leadership in collaboration with the Head of Service and Service Manager
  • As a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, you will contribute to teaching, research, quality improvement, and administrative activities within the inpatient unit
  • You will have the opportunity to share your knowledge and skills in teaching and training medical graduates and other professional staff
  • You will participate in the shared on-call roster

  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP), or equivalent
