About us:

The Clinical Measurements and Diagnostic Services Department provide high quality respiratory and neurophysiological diagnostic testing to assist medical practitioners in the appropriate diagnosis, treatment and management of health conditions. Central Queensland (CQ) Health offers a comprehensive diagnostic service to patients through their acute hospital admission, recovery following discharge or when accessing other specialist outpatient services. Our Clinical Measurement Scientists work in hospital and community facilities across Capricorn Coast and Rockhampton regions.

About the role:

Perform respiratory and neurological investigations within a multidisciplinary team across a broad range of clinical areas.

  • Deliver as part of a multidisciplinary team, sound independent evidenced based Clinical Physiological services across multiple modalities within the Clinical Measurement Team, to relevant stakeholders/customers across Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS).
  • Provide clinical practice and operational supervision to work experience students, or those involved in observational clinical placements. As level of experience increases, provide clinical education for students and less experienced staff with support of senior clinical staff.

About you:

To be successful in this role you must have a tertiary degree qualification in science (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline with a strong component of human anatomy and physiology.

  • Demonstrated a base level of knowledge, expertise and skill in all respiratory and neurological investigation areas and an ability to rapidly acquire skills in use of respiratory and neurology technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet targets, work without direct supervision and to accepted standards of professional conduct in a continuous quality improvement environment.
  • Ability to function as a member of a multidisciplinary team, and to interact with patients and members of the public.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $51,482 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $42.40 - $56.89 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
