What are we looking for?

Cleveland Clinic London are looking to a recruit a Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our Bank Team, with a competitive pay rate.

This is a Bank role with the following shift patterns:
Monday to Friday: 8:00 – 16:00 or 10:00 – 18:00
 

As an autonomous practitioner within a multidisciplinary team, the Bank Highly Specialist Rehab Occupational Therapist will assess, treat and manage their own caseload and provide highly specialist occupational therapy in their specific area. This role will report directly to the Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist and be part of a highly innovative, evidence based, forward thinking therapy team.

What will your duties include?

  • Supporting the weekday service, Monday-Friday (either 8am-4pm or 10am-6pm)
  • Assist in operational management and deliver occupational therapy with advanced assessment, management and clinical reasoning to patients, including linking in with the wider MDT
  • Provide and act as a source of clinical expertise in the occupational therapy management of patients to MDT, deputising for occupational leads as required.
  • Educate and train occupational therapists and other MDT members with innovation and passion.
  • Take a proactive lead in using routine outcome measures to improve patient care.
  • Provide highly supportive supervision and coaching to other therapists.
  • Keep informed of evidence, changes to practice, relevant research and guidance to discuss at regular opportunities to progress and develop own / MDT practice.
  • Be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of own work, ensuring a high standard of care and actively encourages and motivates others to do the same.
  • Identify areas of research and quality improvement priorities in occupational therapy in your specific area to add to wider occupational therapy development strategies.
  • Assist in identification, mitigation and management of risks as part of clinical governance.

What we need from you?

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered.
  • A minimum of 24 months acute hospital experience working as a Occupational Therapist at a senior level in one of the inpatient specialities including Orthopaedics, Neurological and general surgical specialities is essential.
  • Effective and adaptable communication using a variety of verbal and written techniques to the needs of the patient, family, carer and wider MDT
  • Ability to prioritise, delegate, organise and work effectively to a deadline
  • Evidence of training / experience in appraisal, supervision of therapists/students
  • Specialist knowledge and experience in application of clinically reasoned, safe and evidenced based techniques, assessments, management plans and outcome measures in relevant clinical area of neurological occupational therapy.
