An exciting opportunity exists for the Dental Hygienist to contribute to the provision of a high standard of oral health care to all eligible clients of the Sunshine Coast Oral Health Service through the delivery of dental hygiene services, working within a multidisciplinary team. 

Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south to Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include: 

  • Deliver routine dental hygiene services and oral health promotion to clients in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards within a hospital, fixed or mobile oral health clinic, or a community outreach setting.
  • Exercise independent decision making and judgement, under the professional guidance of a more experienced practitioner, in appropriately referring patients for the management of conditions outside scope of defined clinical practice or level of clinical experience.
  • Apply clinical judgement of increasing independence commensurate with level of clinical experience.
  • Provide clinical education, advice, supervision, education and mentoring on dental hygiene services and care to less experienced team members.

Remuneration value up to $128 706 p.a., comprising salary between $74 747 - $112 805 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP3) (temporary position available for 12 months).
