Alberta Health Services (AHS) Calgary Zone is inviting applications from family medicine or emergency medicine physicians with a background in urgent or emergency care to join the Department of Rural Medicine at the Okotoks Urgent Care Centre.

This is a line position that will include a minimum of 4 shifts per month (with possibility of more) starting in July 2024. The successful applicant should have the ability to pick up open or traded shifts within the group, as well as shifts that need coverage on short notice due to unexpected physician absence or illness.

Qualifications:

The successful applicant will:

Be certified in Family Medicine with the Canadian College of Family Physicians or certified in Emergency Medicine with the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians.
The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta/Hold active licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
Have current medical liability insurance coverage.
Demonstrate strong, clear communication skills including written, auditory, and verbal.
Have greater than one year of experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting.
Be certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support.
PALS and ATLS recommended.
Must read, write and speak English
