Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Medicine department at the Bristol Royal Infirmary.

The departments have an active research department with opportunities to participate in the wide range of ongoing research activity.

The post holder will have a strong interest in medicine and be medically qualified to at least SHO level.

On-call commitment will be negotiated with the successful candidate.

This post is not accredited as part of a speciality training programme. This post will however provide an opportunity to gain excellent experience in the management of general medical patients and to develop your PDP.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Educational Responsibilities - The successful candidate would be expected to take an active role in the teaching activities of the departments. We also have medical students on placements within the department and the post-holder will be expected to contribute to teaching of students.

Clinical responsibilities - The post-holder will be expected to take part in ward rounds both with a consultant and independently and to support the junior team on the wards.
