The ideal candidate will be board certified in nuclear medicine and have experience working with a variety of patients. The Consultant will be responsible for performing nuclear medicine procedures, interpreting images, and providing consultation to referring physicians. The nuclear medicine physician will also be responsible for maintaining a high level of patient satisfaction by providing compassionate care.
In addition, physician will also be responsible for inpatient management of patients under the General Medicine team as well as participate in on call physician roster. The job will be split general medicine and nuclear medicine responsibilities.
Lead the provision of clinical nuclear medicine services to patients, including general nuclear medicine, radionuclide therapy and bone densitometry and other nuclear medicine procedures.
The Hospital treats approximately 12,000 acute inpatients and 17,000+ Emergency Department patients per year. It provides specialist surgical, medical, obstetrics and gynaecology and paediatric services with some general practice inpatients. There is a 6 bed Critical Care Unit that provides ventilation and haemofiltration. There is also a number of visiting sub-specialty services including Urology, Cardiology, Oncology, Nephrology & Haemodialysis. Surgical services are supported by both specialist and general practitioner anaesthetists.
