About us:

Gladstone Hospital provides a range of services to Gladstone and the Banana region. Our Destination 2030: Great Care for Central Queenslanders strategy ( https://www.health.qld.gov.au/cq/destination-2030 ) will see Gladstone Hospital developed as a center for emergency care, medical inpatient and day surgery excellence. This will optimise outreach services to deliver care closer to home in the Gladstone and Banana rural communities.

Operational Services provides a catering, housekeeping, ward support and fire safety and security service to the entire Gladstone Hospital facility and surrounds. The Ward Support Service includes patient assistance and porterage, waste and linen removal as well as the specialist functions of orthopaedic casting, operating theatre and mortuary assistance.

About the role:

Provide quality catering services to the clients of the Gladstone Hospital facility.

  • Maintain high standards in all work practices and procedures by following routine procedures and established techniques to complete tasks as directed.
  • Work in a team environment to ensure the food service function meets the required nutritional and food safety standards.
  • Liaise with Clinical work colleagues to make certain patient safety is maintained.

About you:

The ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Ability to work as a team member to achieve organisational goals.
  • Written and verbal communication skills to effectively liaise with clients and employees of the Hospital and Health Service
  • Ability to carry out duties with a minimum of supervision, to set realistic work priorities, have good organisational skills and to meet deadlines.

Salary information:

  • A hourly rate between $37.30 - $39.80 p.h. (Including 23% casual loading)
