About the role
It is the purpose of this role to provide opportunities and skills that facilitate the transition from advanced trainee to consultant. The Hepatology Fellow manages inpatients and outpatients with liver disease and plays an important role in all facets of their care, including endoscopic services. The Fellow provides appropriate clinical support to other members of the unit and is expected to demonstrate some autonomy in dealing with other professionals involved in the management of patients with liver disease. The Fellow's position also involves a clinical research component and has been designed to provide opportunities to pursue and develop research projects within the unit. The weekly timetable is designed to provide some flexibility to accommodate specific research and clinical interests of the successful applicant.
