About the Role
This role is responsible for acquiring skills to perform the day to day operations of an Apprentice in Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning, at each relevant stage of the apprenticeship program, in the delivery of planned and corrective maintenance activities to plant, infrastructure and equipment in order to maintain Metro South Health facilities in a safe and functional condition ensuring all work is performed in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner to prescribed quality standards meeting customer needs.

As an Apprentice in Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning you will learn how to select install, set up, test, fault find, repair and maintain HVAC systems and equipment in hospitals and health buildings.  

• Undertake vocational education and apply technical learning in the workplace as appropriate. 
• Provide ethical decision making in the achievement of organisational goals. Take responsibility for decisions, actions & behaviours. 
• Enrol and attend vocational training; complete theory-based assessments and demonstrate skills through competency-based assessments to the best of your ability.
