About the role

Permanent part time opportunity to provide professional expertise and services as required for the Metro North Hospital and Health Service through the Department of Anaesthesia, Surgical Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS) in the areas of clinical anaesthesia, teaching, research and quality. There is a limited commitment to provide overtime as clinically required.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

• Comply with and utilise procedures, policies, regulations, and standards which impact upon the position, including contemporary human resource management requirements and practices, such as workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination policies.
• Provide specialist anaesthetic, perioperative, pain management and related services for patients undergoing elective surgery.
• Assist in education and simulation activities for junior medical and nursing staff, as appropriate for a teaching hospital for the Faculty of Medicine, University of Queensland.
• Keep records which meet the standards required by the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and Metro North Hospital Health Service.
