About your opportunity:

Fixed term temporary full-time and part-time opportunities available / Location: Townsville

This position will support the Graduate Nurse and Midwifery Program through the application of the principles of best practice, education, leadership, and portfolio management. The incumbent will provide expert skills in clinical facilitation to support new nursing and midwifery staff to the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (HHS).

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following: 

  • Ability to comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.
  • Advanced knowledge of legal and professional responsibilities.
  • Ability to provide leadership to Registered Nurse/Midwives (RN/M); Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in nursing (AINs).
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with the multidisciplinary team, patients, and other stakeholders, including participation in relevant networks.
  • High standard of written and oral communication skills with the multidisciplinary team, patients and their families, other key stakeholders, inclusive of participation in relevant networks.
  • Ability to use information systems that are appropriate to the position.
  • Ability to provide clinical education and support as well as demonstrating own ongoing professional and education development.

  • Generous remuneration package value up to $132,289 p.a. comprising:
  • Salary range of $4138.10 to $4431.10 p.f. or $54.44 to $58.30 p.h. (Nurse Grade 6, Band 1)

Requirements:

  • Proof of qualification (Bachelor of Nursing/Midwifery or equivalent), registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
  • Highly Desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.
  • Possession of class C drivers' licence.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
  • Travel is a requirement of this position. On-site accommodation will be provided when travelling to outlying facilities.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
