About us:

The Gladstone Emergency Department is a 24 hours public department providing initial treatment for all, definitive care for many; and resuscitation and stabilisation of emergencies or unwell patients prior to transfer to tertiary centres or admission to Gladstone Hospital.

About the role:

The Registered Nurse provides direct clinical care to the acutely ill patients in the High Dependency Unit (HDU) – Gladstone Hospital. The Registered Nurse (RN) is supported by Clinical Nurses (CN) and Nurse Unit Manager (NUM). A Nurse Grade 5 is a Registered Nurse who provides nursing services within health service settings and demonstrates competence in the provision of nursing care as specified by registration requirements, Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia (NMBA) standards and codes, educational preparation, relevant legislation, and context of care.

About you:

Mandatory qualification/s: Current nursing registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

  • Proven ability to provide clinical education and support and demonstrate own ongoing professional development.
  • Demonstrated ability with decision making and problem solving in relation to, but not limited to negotiation and patient care planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.
  • Knowledge of legal and professional responsibilities, including ability to demonstrate competency as outlined in the National and Midwifery Board of Australia, Registered Nurse, Standards for Practice.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $8,365 p.m. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $41.73 - $53.53 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution

It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against vaccine preventable diseases as listed on the Role Description.
