About you:

You are a qualified Dietitian with demonstrated ability to apply knowledge, skill and expertise in clinical nutrient and dietetic practice across a broad spectrum of clinical areas and service models including delivery of group programs and outpatient clinics, effective communication skills, including interpersonal, written, oral, technological, and educational and the ability to interact effectively with member of a multi-professional team. Experience in a cross-cultural setting is advantageous. You can prioritise workload and assist with the day-to-day organisational management of Nutrition and Dietetic Service.

Your opportunity: 

Deliver evidence based, patient focused nutrition and dietetic clinical services commensurate with level of clinical experience as a part of the Tablelands and Mossman Allied Health team. Utilise increasing professional and clinical decision-making skills, to enhance inpatient and outpatient nutrition and dietetic service delivery.

Your role: 

  • Manage an appropriate caseload using high level time management and prioritisation skills including the maintenance of accurate patient records and recording departmental statistics.
  • Proportionate with level of experience, apply independent clinical judgement to more complex clinical dietetic tasks, ensuring decision making is in line with evidence-based practice and in accordance with well-established clinical and departmental protocols.
  • Proportionate with level of experience assist in the development and/or review of clinical practices, procedures, and protocols. Participate in local quality and service improvement activities using the principles of evidence-based practice under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Develop Dietetic clinical practice knowledge, skills and expertise through self-directed learning, active learning within a team environment, and engaging in professional development activities.
  • Commit to patient safety and quality in the delivery of health care by adhering to clinical governance policies and processes and by actively participating in safety and quality practices.
